After receiving his BFA in 1983 from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia
for Graphic Design and Illustration, Steven launched his professional
career employed at a staff position as a Graphic Designer in the
suburbs of Philadelphia. Looking to advance his career, he accepted
an offer to relocate to a Los Angeles advertising agency where
he worked for the next year. In 1986, Steven returned to his hometown
area, when he accepted an opportunity to join the creative team
at WCAU-TV (CBS) as Graphic Designer/Director of Animation. He
created computer still and motion graphics for all areas of the
television station including the news, promotion and programming
departments.
In 1989, he was offered a position as Art Director at Telezign,
a New York based computer graphics company. He designed broadcast
and commercial motion graphics for such clients as: CBS, NBC, ESPN
and USA Networks. A year later, he was approached by the senior
management of WCAU-TV and asked to rejoin the staff as Director
of Graphics and Design, overseeing the complete on-air graphic
look of the station. During the next four years, he was involved
in the creation of two station redesigns which included elements
ranging from animated opens, sets, print advertising and promotion.
He managed a creative department that consisted of staff designers
and various freelance designers.
During his tenure at WCAU, Steven was recruited by CBS Sports to
work as one of ten Graphic Designers selected from around the world
to work on location at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, France
and again in 1994 in Lillehammer, Norway. Steven won a 1994 National
Emmy for his efforts on the technical team remote for the Lillehammer
games.
After almost eight years with CBS, Steven fulfilled a long time
goal by opening his own graphic design studio. So in May of 1994,
Steven co-founded Power Design a creative solutions studio with
his business partner and now wife, Lisa Delaney. Power Design boasts
an ever growing, established A-list of clients from ABC/Disney,
PBS and Comedy Central to the University of Pennsylvania. The studio
and it's work has been garnered with over 75 industry awards as
well as being featured in many print publications and media organizations
including HOW, PRINT, USA Today, FOX, ABC, and NBC.
For his years of experience in the industry, Steven was offered
to be a guest speaker at the PROMAX/BDA International Annual Conference
in Chicago, Illinois and again at the CTAM Conference in Orlando,
Florida. He was selected as one of Philadelphia's "40 Under
40" young business leaders by the Philadelphia Business Journal
in February 1995. Steven served on the BDA Board of Governors a
two year term ending in 2002 and is still an active member. He
was a judge for the 1999, 2000 and 2001 BDA Awards. He was a final
judge for the Tyler School of Art Senior Design Show and the Interactive
Show for the graduating class of 2000.
After receiving her BFA in Illustration from Northern Illinois
University in 1987, Lisa began her professional career as an Illustrator/Graphic
Designer at a studio in a suburb of Chicago. In search of a new
design opportunity, in 1988 she accepted a position at WISN-TV(ABC)
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a Graphic Designer creating still and
motion graphics.
Looking to advance her career within the television creative environment,
she relocated to Philadelphia in 1990 and joined WCAU-TV (CBS)
as Senior Graphic Designer. At WCAU-TV, she executed creative solutions
for all on-air and off-air needs including news, promotional and
programming. After four years, Lisa resigned from WCAU-TV in January
of 1994 after being selected as one of ten Graphic Designers selected
from around the world to work on location at the 1994 Olympic Games
in Lillehammer, Norway. Lisa won a 1994 National Emmy for her work
on the technical team remote for the Lillehammer games.
After returning from the the Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer,
she co-founded Power Design, a creative solutions studio, in May
of 1994 with her business partner and now husband, Steven Delaney.
Power Design boasts an ever growing, established A-list of clients
from ABC/Disney, PBS and Comedy Central to the University of Pennsylvania.
The studio and it's work has been garnered with over 75 industry
awards as well as being featured in many print publications and
media organizations including HOW, PRINT, USA Today, FOX, ABC,
and NBC.
Because of her contributions to the industry, Lisa was asked to
be a guest speaker at the PROMAX/BDA International Annual Conference
in Chicago, Illinois and at the CTAM Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Both sessions addressed the topic of the Internet. Lisa was selected
as one of "30 Under 30" people to watch in the Philadelphia
area in the March 1995 issue of Philadelphia Magazine and was selected
as one of Philadelphia's "40 Under 40" young business
leaders by the Philadelphia Business Journal in February 1995.
Lisa is a member of PROMAX and CTAM Professional Organizations.
She served on the Board of Directors of the Art Directors' Club
of Philadelphia 1994-1996. She was a judge for the 1999 and 2002
PROMAX Awards, on the 2000 PROMAX Awards Committee, and Co-Chairperson
for the 2001 and 2002 PROMAX Awards. |
